Personal Training

October 2006
2006 Croydon 10k run

Perfect weather conditions for running ensured all 3 people that took part in this years event achieved pb's. On the new course Jason Cummings achieved his best time of 44 mins 47 secs. I personally had to pick him up before the race to make sure he attended Octobers race (see April).

Armando Corsini ran his first ever race in a good time of 57 27, afterwards telling me that he will beat that in April !!!!!!!!  Debbie Lehane, ran her best time in 1 hour 13.43 proving that you can get fitter as you get older. Only joking, Well done every one for the effort put in.

September 2006
Great 500 Cycle Challenge
Another fantastic achievement by Malcolm Jupp after cycling from Berlin to Warsaw.  Over 632km were completed by the man who just cant resist a challenge.
Lets hope his legs are ok for the final challenge of the year - Croydon 10k.
After that we can give his legs a bit of a rest until the New Year!  Malcolm also raised over £1000 for Marie Curie so well done!!

Cancer Breakthrough Weekend
Debbie Lehane completed  the popular 60km walk around London streets In September with another SJFITNESS client Lorraine Doe. Well done to the pair for raising lots of money and having a great weekend at the same time.
Lots of gossip was also spread during this popular event just for women.
Between them both over £3000 was raised. Superb!

Race for Life 10k - Hampton Court
A great effort by Ros Feltham in her first ever 10k run at Hampton Court.  Weather conditions were attrocious - Hailstorms thunder and lightning ensured that this event was run in appalling weather.

Some of the course was difficult to even walk on at times as she finished in a time of 1hr 44 mins.
Ros did well as we did not have a great deal of time to train for this event.

July 2006
British 10k run London
Andy Mccleave 56 mins
Veronica Mccleave 1 hour 5 mins

Report  -  Another scorcher, over 30c again so fast times were not important again as getting round the course was priority. Although Andy still managed to improve on his last years time by 2 mins - a great effort. Veronica struggled with the heat and her leg - (dont worry we will have it sorted for the next race) but still managed to get round in a respectable time.

Race for Life (Regents Park)
Rachel Cummings 31;10

Report  -   Well done to Rachel for smashing her pb by 7 mins. She trained really hard for the last 6 weeks to achieve this time and to think I set her a target of 35 mins. Rachel was even too quick for her husband Jason who wasnt expecting her at the finish line that soon.
June 2006
Capital Radio 10k Run
Malcolm Jupp  56 mins
Debbie Lehane 1 Hour 20 mins

Report   -   Wow over 30c - far too hot to run 10k I am sure you will agree but both Malcolm and Debbie managed to get round the course whilst all around them people were dropping like flies in the heat.
Debbie's husband Colin also took part in this very popular event in Hyde Park.
May 2006

Race For Life
Veronica Mccleave   28 mins 15
Rachel Cummings  38 mins 05
Debbie Lehane        38 mins 46
Ros Feltham             55 mins 25

Report   -   Veronica managed to put her injury nightmares behind her by matching her time from last year. Debbie smashed her time from last year on this hilly course with a great time. For Rachel and Ros it was their first time at attempting any sort of race and both really enjoyed themselves on a perfect day for running !

April 2006

Croydon 10k results
Dave        48 mins 17               (beat time by 2 mins 18)
Malcolm  48 mins 45           (beat time by 27 secs)

Report   -   Both Dave and Malcolm both managed to beat their times from last October.  I would have put Jasons time onto the website but he failed to turn up after sleeping in on Sunday morning. He also had the cheek to put the blame on his children for not being there to wake him up.
I will make sure Jason works twice as hard to beat his October time!!!!!!!!!!

London Marathon News
Report   -   Well done to Andy and Veronica on Completing their first ever Marathon. Andy in just over 5 hrs and Veronica in just over 6hrs. Veronica did well to finish after her leg gave out after 10 miles. She claims to have ran past Jade Goody (I think everyone did) on her way round.Andy beat Sir Steve Redgrave to the finish line even though his back played up in the last 6 miles. Andy, Veronica (and her daughter Nicki) trained really hard and all 3 had injury problems leading up to the race.
A superb effort i'm sure you will agree.

Half-Marathon News
Report   -   Congratulations to Dave Edgell on completing his first half-marathon at Eastbourne in February.  Dave complete the tough course in hurricane conditions  (or so he tells us) in a competitive time of just over 2 hours.
May be next year he will attempt a full marathon.  Well done "The Edge".

Congratulations to Andy and Veronica McCleave who also achieved their first half marathon at Silverstone on March 19th. Veronica finished with a great time of 2hrs 23.26 and Andy a great time of 2hrs.06.48.
